The Sochi 2014 has kicked off with much celebration. But underneath the surface, doubts still linger. Is Sochi truly prepared to hold the much anticipated winter olympics?
Photos and tweets coming out from the reporters dispatched there seem to show otherwise. Media hotels still not fully completed. Drinking water that looks like recycled water. Half-constructed accommodations with wild dogs and construction workers among their visitors. The list of problems seems to be an endless one.
The host doesn't seem to be completely ready, it seems. Given the tremendous power and resources they have, I ponder if this is merely a flop or it's a really half hearted preparation on one of the world's superpower. At the very least China did beautifully with Beijing 2008. Sochi seems to be just like a nightmare at this time.
Anyway, just enjoy some of the bizarre stories that I've stumbled across.
